When I was a kid, our home was always full of people – if you stopped by to say hello you were staying for dinner. Every Sunday, preparation started early in the morning, when my mom would put up the tomato sauce. The entire family would gather in the kitchen.  My brother and I cutting and chopping while my father rolled out perfect homemade meatballs.  To create anything as delicious as my family's sauce, you needed time.  It needed to be carefully stirred throughout the day.  Slowly adding the fresh simple ingredients that went into a creation passed down through generations. We would spend the entire day eating, talking, laughing.  In our family, food was never about eating.  At dinnertime, we would spend hours at the table. Food kept our family close, and brought those outside of our family in.  This restaurant was opened with the same values.  We are proud to bring you Libretto’s, a place where we can not only share the flavors and aromas of our lives, but also a place where you can create some memories of your own. 

For nearly a decade, our family has operated Libretto’s Pizzeria and Italian Kitchen in Midtown Manhattan, serving up hundreds of satisfying pizzas a day for the toughest pizza critics in the world – New Yorkers.  Now, in addition to our Manhattan eatery, we are proud to bring the first true, authentic New York City pizzeria to Charlotte, North Carolina.  The warm welcome that we received at our first location, at the Epicentre in Uptown, has inspired us to open our second location at the Ballantyne Commons East, in South Charlotte. 

We welcome you to enjoy our mouth watering pizzas, fresh from the oven calzones, traditional Italian pastas and entrees, and tempting desserts.  Once you do, we trust that you too will become a part of the Libretto family.
